1. Reboot Your PC:
With many problems, rebooting your computer is the first troubleshooting step you should try. If you’re lucky, you can clear some temporary glitches by restarting, which will fix your network connection problem.
Most of this advice assumes you’re using a Wi-Fi connection, as they often experience issues. However, if you are connected to your router with an Ethernet cable, you should also try another cable at this point to make sure yours isn’t faulty.
2. Disable Any VPN Connections:
Using a VPN can provide many benefits, but they also add a layer to your internet connection setup. As a result, what you think is a problem with your home network connection may actually be a problem with your VPN. 6. Reboot Your Modem and Router:

To access the Network Troubleshooter in your Windows 10, visit Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Select the Network Troubleshooter and follow the steps to see if Windows can fix the problem. In Windows 11, you’ll find a similar tool in Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Internet Connections.
8. Checking on the External Peripheral:
Now that you’ve confirmed that your Ethernet not working isn’t just a slip of memory or your attention, we can safely move on to checking the external peripherals. These include Ethernet cable, connecting port, etc. First, check out these two easy steps. Although they appear to be very common problems, they can be useful in blocking connections, which is why we often ignore them.
Check your Ethernet cable. Make sure it is not loosely connected to the port. If it is, connect it firmly. Take a close look at your router’s port and network card.
